TRAVELLING TO/FROM APPI IN NOTHERN JAPAN
Morioka is the capital for Iwate prefecture and is the nearest gateway on your way to Appi if you take Shinkansen and JR trains. Hanamaki airport connects Iwate to Shanghai, Taiwan Taoyuan. If your flight to Japan arrives at either Narita or Haneda, take Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo station to Morioka. Then either take a JR Hanawa line or bus bound for Appi. You will be with us in an hour or so. Driving to Appi is more straightforward as you can skip troublesome transits and luggage related problems. The following chart shows how to get to Appi in various combinations.
Please transit at Morioka station from Shinkansen or bus to JR Hanawa Line via IGR(Iwate Ginga Railway) Line. It take about 1 hour. Please contact us for pick-us service from Appi kogen station to our hotel(pension). Reservation Required for pick-up service.

APPI is located 20 min drive from the Ashiro Exit or 15 min drive from the Matsuo-Hachimantai Exit on Tohoku Expressway. Please be well aware that snow tyres are a must when driving to/from Appi in winter. You will be in a big trouble otherwise. We also recommend you check the latest weather forecast of Appi or Hachimantai city before coming to Appi.
